Review: FreshLook Colorblends contact lenses

I was selected as one of the 30 bloggers to review FreshLook Colorblends contact lenses co-organised by Plusizekitten and MrLens. I'm sure you did remember I posted two preliminary blogs about this contest. This post is the REAL McCoy, i.e. the review of FreshLook Colorblends contact lenses, with compliments from MrLens. The colour of the FreshLook Colorblends I had chosen was Brown. I am quite sure many people who know me personally would be wondering why of all colours they had to be brown?  Honestly, I'm playing it safe and not wanting to end up looking like a freak or an alien from the outer space!

OK, going straight to the point - here are the 'before' and 'after' pictures of me:

The change of the colour of my eyes is actually quite subtle because I was born with naturally dark brown eyes. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the result of trying out FreshLook Colorblends contact lenses for the very first time in my life, having been wearing contact lenses for 20 years already. These contact lenses actually enhance and complement my look, without changing it in a drastic manner.

The FreshLook Colorblends contact lenses I'm using is a refreshing change from my current brand of contact lenses and I really like the idea of springing a surprise to my friends I meet at the moment. ;) I like to try out new stuff at least once in the lifetime and wearing coloured contact lenses is one of them. I may not be a fashionista but wearing coloured contact lenses like FreshLook Colorblends that complements my physical features very well is DEFINITELY something I would want to try doing.

I will DEFINITELY buy Freshlook Colorblends from MrLens in the near future because of its affordable prices, and I will WANT TO try other colours available in its range. The experience of chopping most of my hair off

As a follow-up of my previous article The BALD truth... how ladies should handle this sensitive issue, I have chopped off most my hair this past Friday. It was an eye-opening experience for me, I actually look OK despite my round face. My hair has actually gone out of control where trying to tame it is concerned. Not only that, it has been dropping like a dog's or cat's fur in which frustrate me to no end. This was how I looked like before I went for the hair cut:

It was extremely stifling to have let my hair grown this long when I am so used to having very short hair. It can be quite unreal for me to say my hair is dropping so much at this length but it is the truth, especially when I wash my hair. Thus, I took the liberty of chopping most of it off, and this how I look now:

Although, I look more like a boy than a gal now, I actually LOVE this new hair cut, very much shorter than what I am used to. The length now is half an inch, but it is quarter of an inch at the nape, front and sides. And I think I would want to keep this hair style at least for the time being.

Honestly, I can say that the experience of cutting my hair this short is liberating beyond description. I may even consider going virtually bald or completely bald in the near future just for the experience of doing it. And I know I would look reasonably good having this kind of hair style. Not to mention, I have a very skillful hairstylist to help me achieve this great look.

American Idol - Living the American Dream?

American Idol Season 10 has dawned upon us again. It's the time of the year when many people around the world would be glued to their idiot boxes every week to watch Americans from all walks of life trying their luck to vie for a spotlight in this reality show. However, the current season of American Idol saw some changes in the panel of judges. Out of the three pioneering judges, only Randy Jackson remained. Steven Tyler, lead singer of Aerosmith replaced Simon Cowell and Jennifer Lopez replaced Paula Abdul as judges beginning this season of American Idol.

What I find amusing about American Idol would be auditions held in the various American cities to search for potential singing talents to be shortlisted into the final round of the competition. The past nine seasons of the competition has succeeded in unearthing some of the best singing talents America has ever witnessed. This is what made American Idol one of the most viewed reality shows around the globe. However, Season Nine showed a lacklustre in terms of the vibrancy and excitement the competition was often expected to demonstrate.

However, not all is lost for having Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez joining the judging panel, I think it will make a marked difference as well as bring back the lost vibrancy and excitement American Idol is well known for. Rest assured, contestants with out-of-the-ordinary personality will definitely spice up the audition rounds as always. And yes, American Idol could be seen as one of the best ways to live the American Dream as this reality show has managed to produce some of the best and successful singers America could offer to the world.

Staying True to Friendships/Relationships

For those who have known me for a period of time, whether long or short... I guess many of you might have come to realise that I am always genuine about and stay true to all the friendship/relationships I have established with other people. By the way, relationship here doesn't only mean the lovey-dovey one-item kind of relationship.... it encompasses all kinds relationship like family, professional, business, patient-doctor, employee-employer, etc... and of course friendship also comes into this context as well.

For as long as I can remember, even when I was very young, establishing genuine friendship/relationship with other people and staying true to it has always been of utmost importance to me. I can't really explain why but I think this has a lot to do with my personality. My family, friends and other people who know me well enough would be able to see that I'm the kind of person who is not pretentious about my feelings. I tend to get emotional at times but that's how I express about my reactions towards most things happening around and to me.

I'm only human like everyone else. I'm different in a lot of ways compared to most people (my family included) but there are reasons as to why I react in a very different way than other people to the things happening around and to me. To me the most important thing in a friendship/relationship I have established is that I need unconditional understanding from the person to accept the REAL me. Yeah, that's all I ask of from people whom I have established friendship/relationship with.

Is this request difficult to fulfill? I don't think so, I guess it's because I have always been treating all the people Í have established friemdship/relationship this way. Accepting people as the individual person they are; for their good and not so good points to me, in my high opinion is extremely important in maintaining an excellent friendship/relationship.

Life is already miserable in this dog-eat-dog of a world. We should not make life worse than it already is. Thus, the least we could do is be genuine to the people we have established friendship/relationship with. To all the people out there who have been true to the friendship/relationship I have established with you over the years, this is all I have to say - thank you for being able to make a positive presence and impact in my life and I greatly appreciate all of your effort in keeping the frienship/relationship alive and last through the test of time.

Newbie to blogging...

I am new to blogging. I didn't catch on to the craze like most people. However, I do enjoy writing... it's a form of emotional catharsis for me. Maybe I am destined to be a writer in the near future, I dunno...

I enjoy reading and learning a lot. My topics of interests vary, from science to performing arts to language to sports; practically anything that catches my interest. In terms of physical activities, I enjoy swimming and ballet (although I don't dance anymore). Also, music is my ultimate escape when I am facing a lousy day. I enjoy many different genres of music from pop to classical to Latin American.

From young until now, I am always different from my peers. Initially, it was a struggle for me to understand why I don't fit in easily like the rest of my peers. In fact, I very much loathe the fact I am different from my peers when I was younger. But now, as an adult I really like the idea of being different from my peers. In fact, I like the fact that I am different from my peers. It makes me stand out when I'm in a crowd.

People tend to notice me more, I don't care if it's good or bad impressions these people may have in their minds; most importantly I am myself, it's just the way I am. I believe I should not let people dictate the way I behave or live my life. What's more important I have no regrets in life and I make sure I live by the Ten Commandments and the teachings of Lord Jesus in the Holy Bible.

Carpé diem is my life motto... having experience Death knocking at my door not too long ago, I believe you should try everything in life at least once, but not the things that will harm other people and yourself in any way. I truly believe we must be responsible for our own actions and realise we are accountable to the consequences arising from our actions.

I will post more blogs on the issues I have raised in this maiden blog in the near future. In the mean time, I welcome feedback, comments and criticisms with reference to my blog postings. Constructive ones that is and no personal vicious attacks allowed. It's a free world out there but all Netizens must realise their responsibilities to each other.
